Rome Township Supervisor

The Township Supervisor moderates all board meetings, and may call special meetings. The Supervisor nominates members to the different commissions and boards. The Supervisor also prepares and proposed the Township budget for consideration by the board. The Supervisor also works with the Clerk in preparing the agenda for the board meetings.

The Supervisor is also responsible for assessing functions of the township. If the supervisor is not certified as an assessor, then the Township must hire a certified assessor.

The Supervisor is elected every four years at the time of the Presidential Election.

 

Statutory Duties include:

  • Secretary to the Board of Review
  • Township's Legal Agent
  • Must maintain records of the Supervisors Office
  • Responsible for tax allocation board budget
  • Appoints commission members
  • May appoint a deputy supervisor
